Exercise Helps Menopausal Women

Aside from our hormones during pregnancy, menopause is right up there with hard times for women.   Of course we all know there are lots of symptoms that occur but the first to pop into our minds are the hot flashes.   Hot flashes are more irritating than we think… they can be such a hassle for women that they can actually cause other issues like depression, sleep problems and anxiety.

Since your body is going through many changes, you probably think that there is nothing you can really do. And to be honest, I don’t know if there are any drugs on the market that help, but I would not be surprised if there were tons of them.  There is one thing I am certain about that can help relieve symptoms, and unlike the pills it is free… working out.

This one study that was conducted by the University of San Francisco stated that for obese women, exercise drastically cut the occurrence of the hot flashes.  Yes, the study only reported on obese women, but it’s safe to assume that all women suffering can benefit from regular exercise.

Those involved in the study aren’t sure why exercise routines affected hot flashes, but the data was very clear that there was a correlation between them.  If you are not obese, you can still get much relief from the symptoms of menopause.

Getting in exercise will help with other symptoms too… fight off the depression, the anxiety, and of course get a better night of sleep.   Having proper workout plans of course helps the way your body looks, but it does more than that.   Decrease your symptoms of depression by the ability of exercise to balance out hormones and increase the “happy chemicals” in your brain that affect mood.  It will also really help with sleeplessness because it will cause your body to sleep so it can repair itself.

In an ideal world, you have been exercising as part of your life before menopause kicked in, but if not it’s not too late to start reaping the benefits!   Now all that is left for you to do is get a good exercise routine together and start following healthy, clean eating recipes… and you will see your life improve dramatically.
